Woman busted for stealing sexy police officer costume
OCTOBER 14--Meet Megan McCauley.
Like many other 20-year-old women, the South Carolina resident was planning to dress up this Halloween in one of those "sexy cop" costumes. That dream may have died Monday afternoon when McCauley was busted after trying to steal the cop outfit from a Spencer's gift outlet in a Myrtle Beach mall.
McCauley, pictured in the mug shot at left, was charged with shoplifting for trying to boost the $59.99 Leg Avenue costume, according to a Myrtle Beach Police Department report. A Spencer's employee told cops that McCauley took the cop costume into a dressing room and then dashed from the store with the item stashed in her purse. McCauley was subsequently collared by a mall security guard.
If McCauley has now shelved the idea of posing as a law enforcement officer, Spencer's offers a few alternatives, like this, this, and this. (3 pages)
